The Fascist Regime

The recent gun control debate has been storming the nation with concerns and thoughts of whether or not we should keep the status quo of allowing the normal citizen to have the ability to buy a weapon from the local gun shop, and sure the majority of the nation's population can use the completely reasonable piece of evidence that the Sandy Hook shooting and/or the Colorado Theatre shooting might also be a piece of evidence that shows that the "privilege " of a normative citizen to obtain a weapon should be revoked, but there is a major problem with the planned solution of the status quo. First, Fascism. The ability for the government to revoke gun control rights from a citizen of a population is a push for totalitarianism, I'm not going to post some "We need our freedom" and "this is America", because don't get me wrong, I'm not the typical republican/conservative guy that is solely pinned to the constitution, like the various opposers to the Gun Control laws, though what I intend this article is to point out that there is not only one solution to the recent tragedies that have occured in the past few months.

As I sit here with my good friends Connor Hayes and Elan Goldman and discuss the issue, the idea of Fascism doesnt seem so unreasonable if one were to think about it. A form of bio-political control from the state such as one portrayed by, for example, the Nazi Regime (which may seem far fetched). Their use of control over the population in various ways isn't far from the fascism that the gun control laws would impose on the United States Citizens.

Now I start the discussion of the solution, well at least a feasible solution in my opinion. Instead of imposing such a fascist ruling in this country, maybe just a rivision of the second amendment and a consideration of the status quo and the potential implications of gun possession from citizens could be imposed. A possible opening for a referendum of some sort to adopt revisions of the second amendment is also possible, but it isn't necessarily the immediate solution us as the youth can discover, it is the discussion that can emerge from our thoughtful and bright minds that might have some effect on various questionable laws in the United States. #theyouthfightsfacsism
